Behind the Bikini

Hey there! I’m Kim — Arizona-born, currently soaking up the Southern charm of South Carolina, and always on the hunt for my next sunny escape.

I started The Traveling Bikini because I believe travel doesn’t have to drain your bank account. I’m all about affordable adventures, especially those spontaneous weekend getaways that don’t require a passport or a PTO request (well… maybe just one). From hidden beaches to charming small towns, I’m on a mission to show you that you can explore more, spend less, and look great doing it — usually in a bikini, of course. 👙🌴

My favorite destinations? Hands down, Staniel Cay in the Bahamas — crystal-clear waters, swimming pigs, total paradise. But if you ask me tomorrow, I might say Iceland because, well, glaciers and waterfalls. Let’s just say I’m a little indecisive, and I definitely over-research everything before I travel anywhere (my Pinterest boards are wild).

I typically hit the road (or sky) with my husband, and sometimes one of our three adventurous pups tags along. We’re always chasing the perfect mix of sunshine, relaxation, and new experiences.

This blog is my passion project, my side hustle, and hopefully my full-time dream job someday. My goal is to help you make travel a bigger part of your life — without waiting for that “once-a-year” vacation. Whether it’s packing tips, beach guides, or budget hacks, I’m here to share what I learn along the way.
