What to Bring for a Fun & Comfortable Beach Camping Weekend
ποΈ Campsite Comfort
- Tent or RV (not to state the obvious)
- Sleeping bags / bedding
- Camping pillows
- Air mattress or sleeping pad
- Folding chairs
- Picnic blanket
- Tarp or shade canopy
- Small broom & dustpan (helpful for sand!) We also used an extra large tuberware dish filled with water to step in and get the sand off our feet before going inside.

- Cooler with ice
- Portable grill or camp stove (if you don’t want to cook everything over the fire)
- Firewood & fire starters (check local rules)
- Lighter or waterproof matches
- Cooking utensils
- Plates, cups, and cutlery (I prefer paper plates and plastic utensils while camping because no one wants to be bothered by trying to do that many dishes in a small space)
- Dish soap, sponge, towel
- Trash bags & Ziplocs
- Food & drinks (plus extra snacks!)
- Refillable water bottles
- Marshmallows + skewers for sβmores! (because you can’t go camping and not make s’mores)

- Swimsuits
- Towels (bring extras!)
- Beach umbrella or pop-up shade
- Sand toys (if you have kids)
- Surfboard or boogie board
- Beach blanket or mat
- Cooler bag for drinks
- Sunglasses, hat & sunblock

- Toiletries (toothbrush, deodorant, etc.)
- Flip flops for the shower
- Quick-dry towels
- Shower caddy or tote
- Hand sanitizer & wipes

- Pet supplies (leash, bowls, food) — My husband forgot our dog’s collar so we had to improvise and use the leash as a collar as well
- Extra clothes for layering, It did get a little cool at night even when we went in June
- Fishing gear (if thatβs your thing!)
- Binoculars for birdwatching
- Books, games, or cards for downtime
- Star chart or app for nighttime sky watching π
